Vascular lesions

Vascular lesions appear as visible blood vessels, persistent redness, or coloured spots on the skin’s surface. Although generally harmless, they can be unsightly and affect the evenness of the complexion.

What are vascular lesions?

There are several types of vascular lesions, including hemangiomas, vascular malformations, such as port-wine stains, telangiectasias, venous lakes, and angiomas. Among the most common cutaneous vascular lesions are couperose and rosacea, which often manifest as visible dilated blood vessels on the face. Ruby angiomas and telangiectasias on the lower limbs are also part of this group. These conditions share one characteristic: they appear very superficially on the skin, making them particularly visible.

Causes of vascular lesions

Vascular lesions are caused by broken, dilated, or enlarged blood vessels. They can have genetic, hormonal, environmental origins or be related to skin aging. Sun exposure, temperature changes, alcohol, certain medications, and skin trauma can also promote their development. Although harmless, they may become more pronounced over time.

Treatment and Technology

Our Solutions

At Ora Regénéva Québec, we use medical-grade technologies such as intense pulsed light (IPL) and YAG laser to effectively treat vascular lesions on the face in a gentle, targeted, and safe manner.

Photorejuvenation with IPL

Photorejuvenation with intense pulsed light selectively targets visible blood vessels without damaging the surrounding skin. The generated heat causes their coagulation, allowing the body to naturally eliminate them. The complexion becomes more even, redness fades, and the skin regains its radiance—all without social downtime.

Nd-YAG Laser

This treatment effectively targets vascular lesions on the face, such as redness, spider veins, and small visible blood vessels. The YAG laser works by selectively heating the blood vessels, causing them to naturally dissolve while preserving the surrounding skin. It improves the complexion for a more even and radiant face.
